NSW Food Authority Acting CEO Dr Lisa Szabo has congratulated the Champion Small Goods winner of the Royal Agricultural Society’s 2014 Spring Fine Food Show.
South Australia’s Barossa Fine Foods was awarded the NSW Food Authority supported Champion Small Goods Exhibit in the Sydney Royal Deli Meat Competition for its Paprika Leberkasse, a Bavarian meatloaf.
"I would like to take the opportunity to congratulate the Barossa Fine Foods on this well deserved result," Dr Szabo said.
"They were up against some impressive competition this year and have done well to break the NSW winning streak."
NSW producers conquered the major awards in this year's RAS Spring Fine Food Show Deli Meat competition, with 6 out of 9 Champion awards going to NSW producers.
Dr Szabo said the NSW Food Authority is proud to sponsor an event that promotes excellence in the NSW food industry.
"It is encouraging to see NSW businesses performing so well in these awards and it is testament to the quality of food and produce we have available in this state."
"The RAS Fine Food Show has a long and proud history of supporting NSW producers and manufacturers," Dr Szabo said.
"The Authority works closely with the NSW food industry on a day to day basis. We work across the food chain, from the paddock to the plate in an effort to ensure that food produced or sold in NSW is safe for human consumption.
"I value the relationship we have with our industry partners and congratulate all of the entrants in this year’s event."
