The NSW Food Authority advises that Sweet Bondi Pty Ltd is undertaking a recall of three of its ‘Bondi Natural’ tapioca coconut milk puddings due to the undeclared presence of dairy in the products that are labelled ‘dairy free’.

Consumers with a dairy allergy or intolerance should not consume these products and either bin or return them to the place of purchase for a full refund. You do not require proof of purchase for a recalled item.

One person was hospitalised with a severe allergic reaction after consuming the product. The NSW Food Authority has issued the company with a Prohibition Order preventing them from trading until further notice.

All food retailers, manufacturers and importers are responsible for managing the presence of allergens in food. Food businesses in NSW must meet the labelling requirements set out in the Food Standards Code. There are strict penalties for noncompliance.

Consumers are urged to contact the NSW Food Authority helpline on 1300 552 406 (operational during NSW business hours only) to report any recalled product they see in the marketplace or report any food labelling concerns.

If you have immediate health concerns contact your medical professional in the first instance.
