Dubbo food businesses are invited to join Dubbo Regional Council and NSW Food Authority representatives at a free event to talk all things food safety on Tuesday 17 September.

NSW Food Authority CEO, Lisa Szabo, said the Dubbo Retail and Food Service Information Session offers local food business operators the opportunity to come together, network and talk about specific food issues.

“With consumers dining out more regularly and new food trends emerging, it’s more important than ever for those in the food sector to increase their skills and knowledge and know their responsibilities,” Dr Szabo said.

“Businesses that foster a food safety culture show their customers they care by keeping them free of foodborne illness, which ultimately protects the business’s reputation.”

One of three annual food service sessions held across NSW, the event will include a refresher on the basics on preventing foodborne illness, including cleaning and sanitising, handwashing, and allergen management.

Register via Eventbrite for the Dubbo Regional Council Retail and Food Service Information Session, Tuesday 17 September 2024 from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm.

It is co-hosted by Dubbo Regional Council and the NSW Food Authority as part of the Food Authority’s partnership with local councils to improve food safety in NSW.

Under the partnership, councils inspect local retail food businesses while the Food Authority provides support and guidance on food laws, inspections and technical advice.
